Terms of Service

The rules for sponsors, independent athletes and clubs using backk.me.

Last updated 22 October 2026

01Who we are

backk.me is owned and operated by XPO8 Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong, of 1603, The L. Plaza, 367–375 Queen’s Road Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong (“XPO8”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at contact@bacck.me.

These terms are a contract between you and XPO8. They apply to everyone who uses backk.me: visitors, sponsors and athletes. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

02Words we use

  • Athlete: an account holder who publishes a profile and offers sponsorship spaces.
  • Sponsor: an account holder who bids for a space, for themselves or for a business.
  • Space: a numbered area on an athlete’s competition kit or body, offered for one event or for a set period of events.
  • Offer: a timed auction for one space, with a minimum bid, a bid step and a closing time.
  • Bid: the amount in US dollars a sponsor offers for a space, before the surcharge.
  • Surcharge: backk.me’s 1% tech fee added to the winning bid and shown before you bid.
  • Sponsorship: the agreement between a sponsor and seller that forms when the seller accepts the paid winning bid.
  • Proof: photos or video from the event that the athlete uploads to show the logo.
  • Seller: the athlete or club offering the sponsorship and receiving the sponsor’s direct payment through Stripe.
  • Club: an organisation managed by an adult owner, offering season spaces covering its squad or selected active players.
  • Content: anything you add to backk.me, such as profile details, photos, logos, brand names and proof.

03Accepting these terms

You accept these terms when you tick the box to create an account. If you use backk.me without an account, these terms apply to that use.

If you use backk.me for a business, you confirm you can bind that business, and “you” includes it.

When an athlete or club accepts a paid winning bid, the sponsor and seller form a sponsorship. It includes the seller, event or season, space, player coverage and amounts shown before bidding, and the sponsor and seller rules in these terms.

If documents conflict, this order applies: a written agreement signed by XPO8, then these terms, then other information on backk.me.

04Who can use backk.me

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. We check your date of birth before you bid or sell a space.
  • You can’t use backk.me if sanctions or other laws forbid it, or if we previously closed your account for breaking these terms, unless we agree in writing.
  • Athletes must set up payouts with Stripe in a country we support. Payouts aren’t available in every country yet. We show what’s available during setup.

05What backk.me does, and our role

backk.me is a marketplace for athlete and club sponsorships. We run auctions, show logos on 3D models and provide payment, proof and reporting tools.

  • The sponsorship is between the sponsor and the seller. The athlete or club is the seller of record. We do not guarantee sporting results, audience or commercial value.
  • Sponsors pay the seller directly on the seller’s Stripe account. XPO8 receives the disclosed 1% tech fee as an application fee. We arrange eligible monthly payouts from the seller’s account.
  • We refund a winning charge in full if the seller refuses it or does not accept within 48 hours. After acceptance, the seller is responsible for delivery, refunds and disputes.
  • Athletes and clubs are independent, not our employees or partners. Self-reported follower counts are not verified audience reach.
  • 3D models approximate the athlete and kit. Logo previews show placement, not an exact print.

06Accounts and security

  • One account per person. Keep your details accurate and your password private.
  • You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us quickly if you think someone else has used it.
  • You can’t sell, share or transfer your account.
  • The same account can bid as a sponsor and sell as an athlete.

07Bidding and winning (sponsors)

  • Before your first bid, you confirm your date of birth, save a card with Stripe and authorise us to charge it without you present if you win.
  • Each offer shows its minimum bid, bid step and closing time, and bids must meet them. Bids are in US dollars and ranked on the bid amount, not including the surcharge.
  • Bids are binding. Once submitted, a bid can’t be withdrawn or reduced.
  • Bidding closes at the time shown, with no extensions. The highest valid bid at the close wins.
  • If you’re outbid, or you’re not the top bid when bidding closes, you are never charged.
  • If you win, we charge your saved card your bid plus the surcharge shown before you bid. A USD 100 bid with a 1% surcharge costs USD 101.
  • If your bank asks you to confirm the payment, you have 24 hours to do it.
  • If your payment fails or isn’t confirmed in time, the space can pass to the next-highest bidder, and we may restrict your bidding.
  • Fallback window: for 7 days after bidding closes, if a winning payment fails or the athlete declines, the space can pass to the next-highest bid. If that’s yours, we charge your saved card your own bid plus the surcharge. By bidding, you authorise this.
  • Don’t bid on your own spaces, bid on an athlete’s behalf, or work with others to influence the price.

08Your logo and brand (sponsors)

  • You confirm you own the logo and brand name you upload, or have permission to use them, and that they aren’t misleading or unlawful.
  • Not allowed: tobacco, vaping and nicotine products; adult or sexual content; weapons; illegal drugs, cannabis and CBD; political content; hateful or discriminatory content; and anything unlawful where the event takes place.
  • Alcohol, betting and crypto brands are allowed only where they can lawfully be advertised at the event and the event’s rules permit them. You are responsible for following the advertising laws that apply to your brand.
  • An athlete may decline any sponsor for any reason.
  • If a logo breaks these rules, we may remove it. A seller can refuse an unaccepted offer for a full refund. After acceptance, any delivery or refund obligation remains the seller’s responsibility.
  • Licence: you give the athlete and XPO8 a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, resize, print and display your logo and brand name on the athlete’s kit or body, on their 3D model and profile, in proof, in the athlete’s sponsorship history, and in backk.me promotion that shows the sponsorship.
  • Using the sponsorship: you may share the athlete’s proof and name the athlete as someone you sponsored, in your own channels. Don’t suggest an endorsement or relationship beyond the sponsorship you bought.

09Refunds (sponsors)

If the seller refuses your winning charge or does not accept within 48 hours, backk.me refunds the full charge, including the 1% tech fee. The next eligible bidder may then be offered the space.

After the seller accepts, the seller is responsible for delivery and any refund. Missed, moved or cancelled events and delivery reports do not automatically trigger a refund from backk.me. Contact the seller about a delivery problem; the seller can refund through Stripe.

A season is one sponsorship covering the stated dates and player coverage. Its price is not split into refundable event shares.

Refunds return to the payment method used. Timing depends on Stripe and your bank. This does not limit any rights you have by law or your ability to dispute a payment through your bank.

10Proof and delivery reports

  • After a covered event, the seller uploads genuine photos or video showing the sponsorship.
  • Sponsors can view proof and report missing delivery in their collection. The seller receives the report.
  • Proof and reports remain available as delivery records, including if an athlete later joins a club. They do not release money, start a payout countdown or automatically decide a refund.
  • The seller remains responsible for resolving delivery problems. These records do not replace your legal or card-dispute rights.

11Offering spaces (sellers)

  • Keep your profile accurate, including your name, sport, events and follower counts.
  • Only offer spaces you can deliver. Before you publish, check the rules of the event, its organiser and your sport, and any contract you have with a team, club, federation or existing sponsor. You are responsible for any conflict.
  • You set each minimum bid and closing time. Bidding closes before the event so there is time to accept a sponsor and print their logo.
  • Once an offer is published, its fee terms are fixed for that offer.

12Accepting and delivering a sponsorship (sellers)

  • When a winning payment succeeds, you have 48 hours to accept or decline. No answer counts as a decline. You can decline any sponsor for any reason.
  • Once you accept, you must:
    • have the logo printed or applied at your own cost, faithfully and in the space and size shown;
    • compete in the event with the logo clearly visible, without covering or altering it;
    • not sell the same space to anyone else for that event; and
    • upload genuine proof from the event promptly afterwards. You may crop it or adjust brightness, but not otherwise edit it.
  • If a covered athlete cannot compete or an event is cancelled, update the fixture and contact the sponsor promptly. After acceptance, the seller remains responsible for delivery and any refund.
  • Sponsors may share your proof and name you as an athlete they sponsored (section 8).
  • Fake or misleading proof is fraud. We may restrict or close the account. The seller remains responsible for claims arising from it.

13Fees and payouts (sellers)

  • The sponsor pays the winning USD bid plus backk.me’s 1% tech fee. A USD 100 bid costs USD 101. The seller receives the bid less Stripe’s actual processing costs on the full charge.
  • Complete Stripe’s onboarding and use a supported payout country. Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement and account terms also apply.
  • Eligible unpaid backk.me proceeds become due at the first Hong Kong month boundary at least 14 complete days after acceptance. This is when we request a payout, not a guaranteed bank-arrival date.
  • Payouts are limited by available Stripe funds. Pending decisions, refunds, funds that are not yet available and proceeds that are not yet due cannot be paid out. Disputes or recorded external refunds can pause remaining proceeds for reconciliation.
  • Unrelated funds in your Stripe account are not swept into backk.me payouts. A payout is shown as paid only after Stripe confirms it; a later bank return changes its current status.
  • After acceptance, the seller bears responsibility for delivery, refunds and chargebacks. Stripe debits refunds, chargebacks and unrecovered processing costs under the seller’s Stripe agreement. Proof does not control payout timing.
  • Bids and charges are in USD. Stripe may settle or pay out in another currency. We display recorded amounts and currencies without estimating conversion; Stripe or your bank may charge conversion or payout fees.
  • You are responsible for taxes on your sponsorship income. We do not provide tax advice.
  • Changes to our fees apply only to offers published after the notified change; published offers retain their stored fee terms.

14Athlete subscription

  • An athlete subscription is required for independent athlete setup and selling. Active club members receive access through the club’s subscription. Sponsor accounts are free.
  • You get one 14-day free trial, which starts when you are ready to publish. Cancelling and rejoining doesn’t start a new trial.
  • The price is USD 4.99 a month for billing periods starting before 1 January 2027, Hong Kong time, and USD 9.99 a month after that. We show your exact first charge date and amount before your trial starts. Any applicable taxes are shown before you pay.
  • The subscription renews monthly until you cancel. You can cancel at any time. If you cancel during the trial you are never charged. If you cancel later, it ends at the end of the paid month.
  • We don’t refund part months, except where the law requires.
  • Your subscription includes up to five new outfit models in any 30 days. Retries of the same model don’t count.
  • If a renewal payment fails, you have 7 days to fix it. Until then you can’t publish new offers or create models. If it isn’t fixed, your subscription ends.
  • Ending your subscription never stops sponsorships you have already accepted, proof, refunds or payouts you have earned.
  • We give at least 30 days’ notice before a price change applies to you.

15Clubs and membership

  • A club owner must be an adult authorised to manage the club. Creating a club does not require a personal athlete subscription.
  • Invited adult athletes must accept club membership. While active members, they cannot offer personal sponsorships and the club owner controls their kit layouts. The club selects its featured player and sells season coverage for the squad or selected members.
  • An athlete must finish existing personal event or season obligations before joining. Pending payments, decisions and refunds still block joining. Proof and reports remain available afterwards.
  • The club subscription is USD 9.99 per month plus USD 1.99 per active member. Saving a card alone does not start billing. The first active member starts the club’s one 14-day trial.
  • Member additions and departures are prorated on the next invoice. The base subscription continues with no members until the owner cancels through Stripe, effective at the end of the paid period. Restarting does not grant another trial.
  • Failed club payments have a seven-day recovery period. Access ends when recovery expires unless payment is restored. Applicable subscription tax presentation must be confirmed before live charging.
  • Joining schedules an existing personal athlete subscription to end at its paid-period boundary. After leaving, personal setup and new sales require the athlete’s own subscription, without another trial. Existing sponsorship duties continue.

16Photos, 3D models and your address (athletes)

  • You upload four photos of yourself in your competition kit. They must be of you, follow the photo guide and show no one else.
  • Automated tools, including AI, check your photos are usable. We send them to a 3D modelling service that builds your model. You review the model and decide whether to approve it before it can be published.
  • Models are approximations. Don’t use a model to misrepresent your appearance or kit.
  • When you first publish, you choose your public address on backk.me. Addresses are permanent: once confirmed, no one can change them, including us. Don’t choose an address that impersonates someone, uses someone else’s name or trade mark, or is offensive. If it breaks these terms, we may hide your profile.

17Your content

  • You keep ownership of your content.
  • You give XPO8 a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, adapt (for example, to build 3D models or resize logos), display and share your content to run, secure and promote backk.me. The licence lasts while your content is on backk.me, and afterwards for the records described in our privacy policy and any sponsorship that relies on it.
  • We may feature public athlete profiles, 3D models and sponsorship history in backk.me promotion. Athletes can opt out by emailing us.
  • We don’t use your photos, models or other content to train AI models.
  • You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
  • If you send us feedback, we may use it without paying you.

18Acceptable use

Don’t:

  • give false information, impersonate anyone or open more than one account;
  • bid on your own spaces, bid on an athlete’s behalf, or work with others to influence prices or results;
  • submit fake or misleading proof, logos or follower counts;
  • harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
  • scrape backk.me, or use its content, models or images to train machine-learning models;
  • probe or bypass our security, reverse engineer the service or upload malware; or
  • use backk.me for anything unlawful.

19Closing accounts, suspension and termination

  • You can close your account at any time by emailing contact@bacck.me from your account email.
  • Closing your account does not cancel existing bids or accepted sponsorships. Proof, reports, refunds and eligible payouts remain available; sellers remain responsible for their accepted obligations.
  • Closing an athlete account cancels its subscription at the end of the trial or the current paid month.
  • We may suspend or close an account, remove content or cancel bids if you break these terms, for fraud, safety risk or non-payment, or if the law requires. We tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety prevents it.
  • The sections on money owed, content licences, refunds and payouts for past sponsorships, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes continue after your account closes.

20Payments through Stripe and other services

  • Stripe processes payments, refunds and payouts. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers.
  • Stripe’s own terms apply to your use of its services. Athletes also accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement.
  • We use other providers to run backk.me, such as hosting, email and 3D modelling, and may change them.
  • Links to other websites, such as athletes’ social profiles, aren’t under our control.

21Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep backk.me available but don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or remove features. Emails and notifications can be delayed or fail, so check deadlines in your account, such as the 24 hours to confirm a payment and 48 hours to accept a sponsor.

22Disclaimers

backk.me is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that an offer will receive bids, that an athlete will compete, perform or reach any audience, that an event will take place, that follower counts or models are accurate, or that a sponsorship will bring any commercial result. This doesn’t affect rights that the law doesn’t allow us to exclude.

23Limitation of liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or where the law doesn’t allow it, including under the Control of Exemption Clauses Ordinance (Cap. 71).
  • Otherwise, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for loss caused by other users, events or organisers.
  • Our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the fees you paid to XPO8 in the 12 months before the claim arose and USD 100. Fees means surcharges and subscription payments, not sponsorship proceeds paid to sellers.
  • This doesn’t limit our duty to refund or pay out money as these terms require.
  • If you are a consumer, these limits apply only as far as the law where you live allows.

24Indemnity

You will cover XPO8’s costs and losses from third-party claims caused by your content, your breach of these terms or your breach of the law. For sponsors, this includes claims that your logo infringes someone’s rights. For athletes, it includes claims from events, organisers, teams or other sponsors about the spaces you sold. This doesn’t apply where we caused the problem, and for consumers it applies only as far as the law allows.

25Events outside our control

Neither of us is liable for failing to perform because of events beyond reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, war, government action or outages at our providers. The refund rules in section 9 still apply.

26Changes to these terms

  • We may update these terms. For material changes, we tell you at least 15 days in advance by email or on backk.me, unless a faster change is needed for legal or security reasons.
  • Bids already placed and sponsorships already formed keep the terms that applied when they were made, unless the law requires otherwise.
  • If you keep using backk.me after a change takes effect, you accept it. If you don’t agree, you can close your account.

27Governing law and disputes

  • These terms are governed by the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
  • Before going to court, email us at contact@bacck.me and give us 30 days to try to resolve the issue in good faith. This doesn’t stop urgent court action or a complaint to a regulator.
  • The courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live and may bring a claim there where its law allows.
  • Where the law permits, claims must be brought individually, not as part of a class or representative action.

28General

  • These terms, the privacy policy and the offer details shown when you bid are the entire agreement between you and XPO8 about backk.me.
  • If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we delay enforcing a right, we haven’t waived it.
  • We may transfer our rights and duties to an affiliate or a successor running backk.me. You need our written consent to transfer yours.
  • These terms don’t create a partnership, employment or agency between you and XPO8.
  • Apart from sponsors and athletes enforcing a sponsorship between them, no one else has rights under these terms, and the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap. 623) doesn’t apply.
  • We send notices to your account email or show them on backk.me. If these terms are translated, the English version prevails.
